ReGrowth is a ‘site specific’, performing arts school holiday program for young people aged 10-17 years. The program will be delivered in 5 locations across the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley LGAs. The program consists of a series of theatre skills and performance workshops. You will be supported throughout your involvement by skilled teams from The Family Place and Campbell Page.
You will have the opportunity to devise and create theatre from your own stories and shared experiences. The workshops will be developed and facilitated by Bontom, a creative and experienced team of young professional artists, who specialise in site specific theatre. Site specific theatre can be made and performed anywhere, this program will create, rehearse, and perform in significant community spaces. The final session of the workshop will be a performance, the space will be transformed into a theatre for one night only, with an audience of welcome parents, families, and wider community.
We will be kicking off ReGrowth 5.0 at Pambula Town Hall in the first week of the Autumn school holidays. Workshops and rehearsals will run from Monday 10th April until Friday 14th April, with a final performance night on Saturday April 15th for family, friends and communities to attend.
Theatre and performing not your thing? That’s okay, we have plenty of other ways you can get involved…
The ReGrowth project includes the production of a feature length documentary, this will capture the journey as we move through and engage in the theatre making process. The documentary will bring to light the untold stories of you and our region with footage being shot during each workshop period and will include a combination of on-site imagery from the workshops and performances, as well as location shots from areas of significance across the Far South Coast. This component is optional to participate in should you wish.
ReGrowth is also looking for high school students interested in work experience components over the school holidays to help you build your CV for future opportunities. We have positions for work experience for the following roles;
- Front of House & Admin
- Production Management
- Documentary Film Making
- Community Development & Project Co-ordination
If you’re keen to get involved, let us know why – be quick, places are limited. You can access the registration form here; linktr.ee/REGROWTH_WORKSHOPS
